thanks 意思是"感謝"，但詞組 thanks to 卻解作 "由於" "因為" "多亏"。

牛津辭典的解釋：thanks to sb/sth (sometimes ironic) used to say that sth has happened because of sb/sth.

例： 

Thanks to your help, the problem has been solved.
多得你的幫忙，才能解決這個問題。

All student stopped talking - thanks to John.
所有學生都停止說話－－因為約翰。

請留意以上兩句 thanks to 均作為從句(子句)的成分。"Thanks to you!"是沒有主句的半句。
